How to win on head to head in Madden 12, The plays that will win you games.

Updated on September 9, 2012

Madden

Have you been playing Madden 12, and have been getting beat, or are finding the competition relatively hard. Well i'm gonna teach you a few plays that will get you some good yardage, and will allow you to push for the gold, and win those important games. These plays will not help you cheat, will not involve difficult plays, and will be able to be used by any team, or any player. Please note that this will not apply to the "ultimate team" game mode, but will mostly apply to head to head games, against other players online, and will not be very affective when playing the computer.

Also upon request I have created a Twitter account for Johnrr's Hubs which can be found here https://twitter.com/Johnrr631992

The strategy

Madden did a good job getting this game ready , especially since they weren't sure if the lock out was going to happen. But one thing that as of now seems to be making easy for certain pass plays. Please keep in mind that this does not mean that Hail Mary's are going to work or anything like that.

So anyway, When you are on offense instead go to the conventional play calling, then choose by play type, then go to shotgun pass. Shotgun pass will allow you to take a few steps back, hold a better pocket, and have more time to let a receiver get open. The next move will be to cycle through the plays until you find a player starting either on the left or the right, then making his way across the field diagonally. The play itself is very hard for a defender to cover because he will be behind the player expecting him to run down the field, and a bullet pass( holding the button which the player is in instead of just pressing and letting go) will go to him without a defender in front of him. Now if you do this right, you should be getting ready to throw it about 1 or 2 seconds after the ball is hiked, and he should be around the middle of the field. Another thing you'll notice is when you throw it, if you lead the player a little bit, he will gain a little spring boost and it will push him to catch the ball. As i said before this play is extremely hard to cover, and even if the defense puts a player in the middle of the field you should still be able to easily get the ball to him. Also this will usually get you between 7-15 yards on the pass, not counting any running you do after you get the ball. So two of this play will always get you the first down.

Keep in mind doing the exact same play will eventually get the defense noticing it, and double covering a certain player, so i advise that you either flip the play to run opposite direction, or you can find more than 1 play in shotgun formation that will run across the middle. Also note that shotgun formation will give you the time needed even when a blitz occurs. Any other mode will leave you vulnerable and possibly sacked, so i really advise doing shotgun formation.

As far as defense goes, when you are here, you should be doing blitz zones. This defense structure will prevent the offense from having a lot of time to decide on your play, possibly get a sack, and still have coverage on the field to maybe a get pick, or at least stop it if a pass can be caught. Overall this strategy should allow you to win games, and give you a slight edge on the competition.

I will be continuing to compete on madden until the new Call of Duty, and Battlefield, and Nba come out, so as i learn new strategies, i will be sure to add them, also feel free to comment or message me if you have questions and i will help out best i can. I will have a guide on the way about ultimate team play, to try to aid you on that as i have found some strategies out, but am ironing them out and when they are completed i will write a guide on them, this will probably happen within the next few days.

The player that you would throw to in this case would be "LB" , and you wuold throw it as he is mid field
