Tips and strategy for Dome on survival mode in spec ops, on Call Of Duty Modern warfare 3 , how to get far MW3
84
Intro
So here i will go over a strategy that will teach you how to get to a minimum of level 30 on DOME. It will go over where you should camp, to what the best setup is and what you should be carrying.
Right below is a link to my other hub teaching the basics and going over which weapons should be used in survival mode, and the strategies that can be applied to ALL the maps.
- How to get to high levels In Spec Ops Survival mode On Call Of duty Modern Warfare 3 ( MW3 )
So this guide will teach you the basic strategies that can be applied to all of the survival mode maps throughout spec ops on Call Of Duty Modern Warfare 3.
The set up
So if you read my guide on survival mode in Call Of Duty you will see the classes and all the stuff that you should carry to get yourself ready to get far in the game, but if this is the first thign you have looked at i will go over everything, and sum it up real fast.
First off, Light machine guns are crucial, no other weapon will be as good, as using a light machine gun, they have large clips, and as far as replenishing ammo you will get biggest bang for you buck. Turrets are very important and if you can get grenade turret over a regular one tat is better.
Keeping a quick revive is very important in survival mode, along with flash bangs, and a riot shield squad.
The strategy
The benefit of dome on survival mode is that you can easily run in a circle at later points if the juggernauts are forcing you to move, but if you save money, don't waste it, and can manage to keep everything stocked up you should have no problem taking them out effectively and quickly.
The best place to set everything up is at the top of the hill. If you go to the top of the map, right outside where the big building is, this area is where you should spend you time. You will be camping more specifically at the big entrance to the cave ( the middle entrance that is blown out). This is right near the grenades, and right between the kill streaks, and ammo box, so this is a good place to camp. Also you will face one turret towards the building where the kill streaks and the other facing towards the paths leading from the ammo box. This will allow you to cover the brunt amount of forces, and still shoot them. Also a riot shield team is essential at higher levels as well.
When helicopters not carrying juggernauts come in, you should try and take these out at the beginnings of rounds, or as soon as they come in. They can quickly take out your back up, and turrets leaving you unguarded or helped. So make sure that you take these out fast and quick.
This area is fine to camp, and leaves plenty of areas for a quick escape. This will make your life a lot easier when the juggernauts come in, or when you need to escape fast. Just remember, you should always have a self revive, and to take helicopters out first. The rest willf all into place.
If you have trouble please comment, or message me and i can assist further.

on dome is using either side of the ladders above the ammo crate a good camping spot
I just run around in circles and try not to get owned
Ok I like you idea but I think you should go to the dome when you have 2 people each person gets a delta squad a turret and a light machin gun put a turret on each side and a delta squad on each side and then you can just kill everyone I have gotten to round 22 easily so I hope this helps I like your idea but this mint just help a little for beginners like me
I heard that sandman comes with delta squad rarely is that true
I agree with the derek kid i tryed it and i got to round 22 easy as pie thanks derek
Ya derek's idea is pretty gud except delta team i brought in riot shield squad and survived till wave 58 until i was overun
if u stay in the big building near the air support box with a bunch of riot shield dudes, u can get to round 35 simple!!! the ladder didnt work at higher levels is horrible!
my friend and i made it to level 39 by camping in the dome we bought claymores every round and the only reason we died was because we were both planting claymores in the same spot right as we did this a dog came in and detonated them and blew us both up at the time we didnt have self revive so yeah try this out it works great
so where do you camp at on this map ive watched a lottav youtube videos and pplalways camp near the self revive i dont see how they do it its hard ive tried it twice and it blows
My personal favorite is camping up the at the some dish, I found it most effective for killstreaks, headshots and really any other. It does work best with two players, one for each ladder. As soon as possible by turrets and place them at the back entrance ladder at the top, to take out anyone attempting an attack from over there. Then go to the left side, go prone, and start picking them off as they go up the ladder, when an attack helicopter comes, retreat to the buildings interior and take them down using it as cover. Light machine guns, turrets, riot shield teams, and self revives are key. This can get you to 36 easily on single player, and much higher when done with two people, with skill.
Me and my friend set up shop in the field between where u get the ammo and sentry guns. Set up one turret just to the right of the bulldozer and the other in the left corner. This should consistently get u to wave 26. We've made it to wave 39, def coulda went further, self revives r so important
? do what james does but i put the turrets next to each other and i dont like lmgs because of its kick i use cm901 and acr 6.8
FYI i like your gilded just trying to see if you could do some for solo survival mode ? iam playing solo cant get past 15th round on hard & insane maps !! thank you
Jonhrrr good tips thanks but i play solo and its hard as ass to pass 35 like biggqme i would like some solo tips
Thanks and another thing which gun and atachments do you use in multi or which gun you think its the best for multi?
Thanks
Thanks John for an informative article. A picture of the map and some labels would have been really great! (especially your turret locations).
It seems as though most people camp in either: (1) the dome building; (2)outside of the dilapidated uphill building near the fighter plane terminal, or (and my favorite of them all); (3)the area in between the ammo and explosive terminals.
I believe (3)is the hardest approach to follow (you can only do this split screen with a mate) but bears the most level high level (40+) potential.
-Put one grenade turret in the bottom corner next to the cave
-Put the other grenade turret behind and to the right of the forklift
(These will generate 75% of your kills minimum because they will pump out 2 high powered grenades every 3 seconds, and they are also very hard to kill at long range by the enemy - this establishes your "splash damage kill zone")
-Have player one camp behind the three square sand barriers just outside of the tunnel entrance facing the forklift
-Have player two camp behind the two square sand barriers on the other side of the forklift
The first crucial part - the location of player one will direct the way path of the AI who spawn near the underground tunnel and cars to approach your camping point from the top of the hill (i.e they run in the kill zone). They will not flank you through the tunnel.
The second crucial part - both players can sit behind their sand barriers and throw flash bangs into the kill zones. So what? Each flash bang = 3 second stun for all the enemies in the corridor (therefore each player carries 12 seconds of stun) so they are held in place while your sentries demolish them.
I have really over simplified this. Experiment yourself though.
Some more tips:
-both players use dual assault rifles with grenadier attachments
-do not buy an LMG or a striker
-keep an rpg-7 next to your camp site and equip it to shoot down machine gun choppers ASAP
-use a predator to kill the jugernaught that drops next to you
-claymores do not pack enough of a punch in the higher levels, further they take to long to lay in between rounds, and its easy to kill yourself with one inadvertently
-each player place C4 snakes where 2-5 charges are placed in relatively close proximity snaking along the kill zone (note one C4=RPG-7 damage and can knock enemies to the floor = stun) and shoot one of the charges when in trouble to set off the fireworks
A final word:
-Protect your sentries at all costs!!!
-The kill-zone is immensely efficient but you need to set it up correctly
-Bullets are not the main weight lifter - you should have 6 types of explosives going off each round (C4, frag, flash, grenade launcher, rpg-7, and turret shots)
-Don't kill yourself stupidly by running close to the kill zone or in the fire path of your turrets or when laying C4 at the start of the round.........
THANK YOU HIGHLY APPRECIATED LOOKING FORWORD TO GETTING PAST ROUND 20 !!!
Thanks for this hub, I will defiantly try this strategy out the next time i'm on call of duty.
Thanks! The solo guide is very useful and i tried the strategies they are perfect
Im going 2 try between equipment and guns armories cuz it seems 2 be best.
The strategies are good for low waves (up to 30) but for anything past that they're not going to work. You are advising people to camp in an open area with a wide range of approaches. Your strategy also requires them to shoot down enemy choppers as soon as possible.
Taking out 3 enemy choppers at the start of a wave is impossible at really high waves. If taking out choppers early is part of a survival strategy then it's a low wave strategy with zero chance of being usable for someone aiming for a wave 60+ game.
"A LOT of time on his hands to reach level 80."
This coming from a guy who spent all his time writing these guides. Not that I'm dissing you, cos it's nice of you to do these and they are informative (if not always the best advice), but it's just ironic.
I have been playing solo and with a partner and find the catwalk around the dome to be the easiest area to camp. On higher levels i place grenade sentries behind the overturned forklift which is BEHIND the dome. One sentry faces the ladder the other covers the back of the first. That frees up player 2 to help player 1 with the enemies between the dome and the bunker. When jugs come we circle the map leading jugs past the sentries until they are weak. Then a couple shots can kill them. When choppers come one person moves sentries into the dome while the other lays claymores in openings of bunker where we wait for the enemies near the air support exit of the bunker. Choppers tend to hover at the dome because of the sentries. Once ground forces are dead you can easily kill the distracted chopperks
I did catwalk with friend and u lie down and u can see them climbing ladder. We also knifed them when they got up. I made 20k by wave 10
Johnrr great advice, my strategy for dome is camping in the building with the equipment armory but i focus all my firepower to the north entrance (the way pointing to the small building with the weapons armory in it) do you think it is a good strategy?
u should go in the dome, turrets on one entrance, players and riot shield squad on another
just out of interest, what is ur average earning a month for one hub ( im sure u have lots more but just want to know)?
i say stay at the top rim with a body place a claaymore at he top are of both stairs and a turrent ant the bottom or at the top what ever you chose and get some light machine guns then when a hele come take the turents bring them in side take out the hele (or with a predetor) and then go back me and my friend got to 57 with this stragety
Hey guys I got a good stratedgy. All u got to do is when u reach a high enough lvl. get riot shield sqauds an us them use 2 turrents both different types just in case then u get some claymorez and set them down for traps and set them in different areas make sure u got two good guns and self revive and a couple grenades and flashbangs and a predator missle. Those are the steps set the tuuret back to back protect them while u run around the map this works on any map. Ok so u run around the map killing whoever gets in ur way and I got to lvl. 105 all by myself u guys should try this. Lol
Hey how do u make a website to help apply out on games and stuff
You need to camp on the ledge around the dome... They are not smart enough to kill you from up there.
i wish you could by a tactical knife with your pistol or upgrads for the pitols like akimbo. or telling your guys to stay in one spot. so i could just keep a spot fortifid and no one follows me to their death or jump infront of the turrets. beside those changes i'd made the rest of the game is good
OK... I am finding this harder on SOLO than BAKAARA... LOL. Anyway, I just reached Wave 18... here is how:
Wave 1: I go up the ladder (closer to the cave entrance where the Equipment Box is) to the ledge around the outside of the dome. I prone facing the ladder with my revolver and start taking Head Shots (patiently). On a good round, I get $3,500 to $4,000.
Wave 2: I make sure I collect a shotgun and all the ammo I can. I still use my revolver and shoot as many enemies on the head as they come up...
Wave 3: same as 2... nice thing is all the dogs stay below... and I leave them to the end... By now I have $10 to $12,000... so I go down and collect as many shotgun amos and buy a LNG + Scope and Grip.
Wave 4 & 5: Back at the top...and using my shotgun I take out all the machine gun enemies... After round 4 I pick up their M5 and ammos from up and down the place... by the end I may have enough to buy my second LMG, if not no problem... next few rounds
Wave 6: 2 Choppers and some enemies come... I go inside the dome near the Ammo box and wait for the few enemies to come and I take them out... then the 2 choppers using the LMG.
Wave 7: I go back up the ladder and kill as many enemies as possible making as much cash as possible...
Wave 8: I make sure I get some claymores and Flashbangs and an armor...
Wave 9: A Jug and a few enemies will come, so I go into the dome and put a few claymores facing the entrance close to where my ladder is... and go back a bit and wait for enemies and jug to come in... I kill as many enemies then rum out the other door up towards the entrance/steps to the Air Support and wait for any remaining enemies to come and the JUG... I'll throw a flash and take out the JUG... then buy a Missile, refill ammo and run up the ladder and camp at the top...
Wave 10 & 11: normal enemies... but need a lot of bullets with the LMG to kill them as they come up the ladder... sometimes you can pick them off before they come up buy shooting them through the grate... always leave dogs to the end... reload between rounds, and make sure you get more Clays too. And if you need self-revive, make sure you always have one, specially before the jug rounds...
Wave 12: A Jug and a Riot Jug... make sure you have the Missile from before... so again put a few clays at one entrance and as soon as the round stars be inside by the ammo box and shoot a missile onto one of the jugs coming down from the chopper -- preferably the one with the riot shield. Then kill some enemies then run out the door away from the other jug... while running kill off any remaining enemies then tackle the JUG with a Flash and LMG... you might actually need a Revive, but your revolver should be able to take him out if you keep aiming to the head... If you end up near the Air Support box, buy another Missile at the end, and refill ammo, if you have time, otherwise wait.. Then run up the ladder again...
Wave 13 & 14: Stay up there and kill them as they come up -- careful of the chemical bomb carriers.... and shoot them before they come too close.
Wave 15: Refill Ammo... and put a few claymores by the entrances... NO JUGS on this round but 2 helicopters hovering outside.. so stay in the dome and take out any dogs, bomb squads, etc... from your position near the ammo box... then use the LMG and take out the choppers... Refill and buy claymores and flashes..(you still have the Missile...)
Wave 16 & 17: Be up there again and kill as many Enemies coming up.. watch out the chemical bombs..
Wave 18: Back inside the Dome... Jugs, dogs, and enemies coming again... so make sure you put as many claymores at the entrances and go near the ammo box and shoot a missile to one of the JUGS coming down a chopper... STAY and wait for more enemies to come in... and kill as many as possible... take note where the other chopper drops off the JUG and as it gets closer try throwing a flash to slow him down and kill any more enemies coming at you... then run out if you need to and go in cirlces... and try to take him out again....
Alas... I haven't yet experienced success at this level... I'll keep trying. Good Luck.
OK, my strategy worked on Wave 18...
Wave 19 & 20 I went back up and camped again on the catwalk... I had a predator missile, but before buying it I called a riot squad to help me... they survived only 2 rounds... LOL (notice I haven't bothered with Turrets... I am finding it hard to protect them and they are getting destroyed way to easily... I'd rather kill the enemies with my guns... also they block my view; plus trying to keep an eye on them is getting too distracting for me... causing enemies from other sides to come too close to me or getting to me... so, so far, no turrets for me...
Wave 21 (or 22 can't remember), again Claymored around the Dome entrances, and a few C4 at the one entrance... I started by downing one of the JUGS w/missile right off the bat, then killed a few more enemies inside until I saw the other JUGS appear at the entrances, so I run out towards the back of the Air Support building near the containers at the loading dock... (I like this area)... I wait at the top of the stairs and finish a few more of the enemies coming towards me, all the while keeping an eye on the JUG(s)... then I run in, and if I have time I'll buy a Missile, otherwise I keep circling around (going out the front door) and come back later to buy another missile... there are 3 JUGS this round, so a lot of circling... On the last one, I dropped 5 C4 at the entrance of the back corridor entrance of the Air Support Building and stayed back enough (into the other room) and watched him around the corner to come in with his shield then double X'ed to detonate the C4s and killed him... On my way out from the front, I bought another Missile (for future use).. went through the cave and filled up a Revive, Clays, and C4, etc. and then went up to my catwalk...
Wave 22 & 23.. the enemies got harder to kill so LMG were handy with the sleigh of hand... and no hesitation please... keep pumping at them... Also filled up between the rounds...
Wave 24... I didn't know what to expect, so I hesitated... then realized there are more Choppers (3?) and dogs, heavily armoured enemies, suicide and chemical bombers, all start coming in... so I moved back into the DOME... sprinkled Clays around the doors as fast as I could -- maybe not enough... and waited for them to come... but got overwhelmed.... Maybe I should have had an AIR Stike or used the predator missile to kill some of the enemies outside before they got in... Oh well... Or, maybe I should have downed a Chopper w/missile so it would be easier to run around...
So I am affraid Wave 24 was it so far, LOL... Good Luck

Thanks for the help I can't get over round 19
