Call of Duty Black Ops 2 How to Improve your Kill to Death K/D Ratio ( BO2 )

Updated on November 22, 2012

Intro

In this guide I will talk about ways that you can raise that ever so important kill to death ratio..I will talk about strategies, game types and weapons to use to raise this level.

Before I go any further let me say if you like what you read feel free to check out my other guides by either clicking on my profile at the top of the page, or following me on Twitter where I post my guides 24 hours before they appear on Twitter. This can be done @Johnrr631992 or Twitter.com/Johnrr631992 ..

Also I am building a clan, which you can see at massivekillingsquad.com, and we are currently only on Xbox, but will be moving to other platforms at the beginning of next year. Also you can contact me directly on Xbox live @ MKS JohnR.. Thanks..

What is a K/D ratio

A kill to death ratio refers to the amount of times you die, to the amount of kills you get. This is not necessarily important, but to some it is. Keep in mind that this number can be reset, and that the only ones who may care about this, are those talking trash, or those who have a requirement to enter a clan. This is also the basis for many of the campers in Call of Duty trying to build this number overall.

Game type

Okay, so you can plenty any game type and raise your K/D but there are some that will greatly help this number. First and foremost..

Kill based game modes. These are your team deathmatch, kill confirmed, and free for all. Obviously you can play any of these game modes and still be able to raise that ever so important number. The trick to this should be that you obviously are going to focus more on kills, therefore these game modes can help you. The only down side is that the enemy is going to be equally focusing on coming after you. Therefore sometimes the best trick for you is to camp somewhere on these game modes and wait for the enemy come to you. Remember that this is a kill based game mode therefore there is no shame in camping.

If you are going to play objective based games then obviously you can help your team out and still get a good K/D ratio. This for instance would be camping enemy objectives, camping the objective, and focusing on preventing the enemy from getting to were they need to be. Also if you have a group of people you can easily go forward and camp the spawns once you have the lead, and this will make things much easier for you. Overall when you are going to play you need to focus on kills if your trying to bring your K/D up. Objective based games are the easiest way to get lots of kills and little deaths because typically people are running around with their heads cut off trying to find the objective, and a good player can easily pick these players off. You should have no trouble being able to infiltrate a spawn, or an enemy base and take out plenty of the enemy and continue to keep a good K/D ratio.

Weapons.

When choosing the right weapon, this will fall on your strategy and game type. If you are looking at deathmatch type games then i would suggest a light machine gun, assault rifle, or sniper rifle. These will allow you to post up places, and slowly take the enemy out one person at a time, and be able to kill the enemy time and time again. This is a sure fire way for you to kill the enemy, and stay ahead in the game. These weapons will give you a boost in kill based games, and will help you in the long run. You can also use a light machine gun for these game modes which will be extremely effective if you learn to use it correctly. These can pack a great punch while allowing you to survive for long periods without reloading.

If you are going to play objective based games... Then you should focus on the opposite. Remember you are going to be in the enemy spawn most likely, and will probably be focusing on close quarter combat. This leaves the best option for weapons to be shotguns, assault rifles, and Small machine guns.. These will give big firepower as well as being able to be used for close quarter situations.. You can also use a light machine gun here but the mobility is limited which is why I suggest against it.

Kill Streaks

Usually in my guides i say keep it simple, but since you are focusing on staying alive to build your K/D ratio you can do 1 of two things. Pray for something good in a care package which will help your K/D, or you can go for those golden kill streaks and they will boost that K/D.. Either way it will take some effort, and will take time. But the kill streaks in this game are provided to get you more kills, and all are equally good. Therefore when you focus on getting kills using better kill streaks will only get you that many more kills. This is a great way for you to progress through the game, and to win.

Usually my setup includes care package/lightning strike.. Stealth chopper, then VTOL Warship. I think these are the best scorestreaks to use,and in my opinion the most effective. i think these are your best option if you are trying to get the most kills. Keep in mind sometimes you might have a hard time getting enough kills to get those kill streaks, and some can be changed. None the less score streaks I don't use so much to get my other score streaks, but use them to get extra kills to help boost my Kill to death ratio. I think that is what you are looking for in this guide, so that is the best way for you to increase that statistic.

Why it Doesn't matter

The number one reason why this stat doesn't matter in the beginning or until you reach 10th prestige is simply because every prestige you have the option to reset this statistic. So to be honest, it doesn't make a lot of sense to worry about this in the beginning because you can fix this at any point in time. Therefore you will want to start focusing more on just prestiging up therefore in the end you can simply hit the reset button on the stats and be all set. So while this is an important number to some especially for clans, don't put all your focus on this number because it can easily be fixed later on.

Summary

So overall remember that at any time you can fix that ever so important number. So don't focus on this early on when it is not so important. In the end it can always be fixed and reset, so just have fun until you hit 10th prestige. It is not an important statistic, and my tips will help you more at 10th prestige when you cannot build that number any higher. Thanks for reading..
